Memorial Day Weekend in Charleston

This weekend is Memorial Day so first we would to thank all of our vetrans and those currently serving in the armed forces. We want you to know we appreciate your sacrafice. We also realize that there are plenty of things to do in Charleston this holiday weekend. Everyone is ready for Summer and this is the weekend to kick it all off from beach parties to bbq's. Oh and throw in the start of Piccolo Spoleto and it can get a little crazy trying to keep up. So we decided to help you narrow down some of the best opportunities to take advantage of this weekend by giving you our Top 4 picks.

1. Share Our Suzy Presents the 10th Annual Memorial Day Party
When: May 24th 2014 Doors open at 6:00 p.m
Check out live music by Indecision & Five Way Friday while enjoying some BBQ and libations. All proceeds benefit breast cancer patients in South Carolina.

2. Sunset Serenade at the US Custom House
When: May 23rd starting at sunset
This is the curtain raiser event for Piccolo Spoleto and best of all it's FREE and who doesn't like free. Be sure to check out the outdoor concert featuring the Charleston Symphony Orchestra with CSO concertmaster and acting director, Yuriy Bekker.

3. Memorial Day Band Concert
When: May 26th from 3 to 4 p.m
Go hang out in Marion Square for a free one hour concert of patriotic music honoring vetrans and those currently serving in the military. Be sure to bring along a blanket or chair and spend a little down time in the late afternoon listening to some great music featuring the Charleston and Columbia Community Bands.

4. The Stand Up Series featuring Dusty Slay
When: May 25th doors open at 7:00 p.m
Ready to take in some nice indoor amusement out of heat for awhile? Head over to the Charleston Music Hall to catch some laughs with Dusty Slay and some of his hand picked comics.

While you're spending lots of time checking out all the things to do in Charleston be sure to stop over at Ripley Marina to cool off for a bit.
